Reports & Exports
ActiveSLR provides built-in reporting and export tools so you can track your review's progress and share data outside the platform. You can generate summary reports of where your project stands, and export detailed activity data to Excel for further analysis or documentation.
Opening reports and exports
From your project, navigate to Reports & Exports in the project sidebar.
Progress reports
Progress reports give you a high-level summary of your project's current state. They are useful for sharing status updates with stakeholders, supervisors, or funding bodies.
A progress report includes:
- Total studies imported
- Duplicates identified and removed
- Studies screened at each phase and their outcomes (included, excluded, pending)
- Data extraction completion rates
Click Generate Report to create the latest version. Reports are generated on demand and reflect the state of the project at the moment you click.
Generate a progress report at key milestones - after deduplication, after title/abstract screening, and after full-text screening - to capture a snapshot of the review at each stage.
Excel exports
Excel exports give you the raw data behind your project in a spreadsheet format. Each export is scoped to a specific activity type so you can download exactly the data you need.
Available export types
| Export type | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Screening - Title/Abstract | All studies screened at the title/abstract phase, with decisions, exclusion reasons, and reviewer details |
| Screening - Full-Text | All studies screened at the full-text phase, with decisions, exclusion reasons, and reviewer details |
| Reconciliation - Title/Abstract | All reconciliation decisions from the title/abstract phase, including both original decisions and the final reconciled outcome |
| Reconciliation - Full-Text | Reconciliation decisions from the full-text phase |
| QC | QC review outcomes, including which studies were flagged and any revision notes |
| Data Extraction | All extracted data fields for included studies, with one row per study (or per study/trial combination) |
Generating an export
Select the export type
In the Exports section, click the export type you want from the list.
Configure options (if available)
Some exports offer filter options, such as exporting only completed studies or a specific screening phase. Select your preferences.
Click Export
Click Export to Excel. The file is generated and downloaded to your browser's default download location.
Data extraction export format
The data extraction export contains one column per extraction form field, with field names as headers. Each row represents one study (or one study within a trial, if trial linking is used). Extractor names and completion timestamps are included for audit purposes.
For projects using the Double DE + Reconciliation workflow, the data extraction export includes the final reconciled values, not the individual extractor values. If you need both extractors' values for analysis, contact support for a detailed export option.
PRISMA flow
For a visual summary of study flow across all phases, see the PRISMA Flow page. The PRISMA diagram is generated from the same data as the progress report.
